Every year, Indecs organises a wide range of events for its members. The aim is to organise these events in such a way that it is easy for everyone to take part and find something to do. The range of events is very wide, from traditional social gatherings to wellbeing events and other lower-threshold events such as board game nights.
Sits, which will become very familiar to students, are organised several times in both the autumn and spring semesters. These include the Friend Sits in the autumn and the Pre-Colours Sits in the spring, which are organised on the first day of Wappu. Every autumn, Indecs organises the Herwanta Challenge, a playful forest adventure competition open to all, where the day is spent navigating through the forests of Hervanta, completing a series of different tasks, with a sauna at the last task.
The events are very much organised in cooperation with other organisations, such as guilds and student organisations, which often offer the chance to meet new people! For example, Indecs organises an annual spring sits with Boomi and TLK. In addition to this, the interdisciplinary offer is represented by, for example, events with Johto ry, Man@ger and the organizations of the Faculty of Management and Economics.
The most spectacular event organised by Indecs is the annual spring gala. The annual gala is always a formal party at Indecs and is celebrated for two days in late March. It includes a cocktail reception for invited guests, a main party with a three-course dinner, an afterparty until dawn and a herring breakfast the following morning. The herring breakfast is a brunch where the gala guests get together to enjoy different treats and good company
